Our Guide to Promming

More than 100 seats at the front of Snape Maltings Concert Hall are removed for each concert to create the Proms area, offering the closest view of the action.  We also release 20 Proms tickets at 10am on the morning of each performance - these can only be purchased in person from the Snape Maltings Box Office and are limited to one per person.

As our Proms area is designed for the audience to be sat on the floor, here’s a handy list of Dos and Don’ts to turn you into an expert prommer:

Do bring a small cushion to sit on or hire one of our legless Proms Chairs for £3 (please book in advance by calling the Box Office on 01728 687110)

Don’t bring deck chairs, camping chairs, sofas, recliners, armchairs, beanbags, chaise longues, rocking chairs, benches, horses or anything else that could block the view of your fellow prommers or take up large amounts of floor space

Do arrive early if you’re hoping to queue for one of the on-the-day £7.50 Proms tickets (which go on sale from the Snape Maltings Box Office every day at 10am, and a limited to one per person)

Don’t worry about the dress code – there isn’t one!

Do make yourself comfortable and enjoy the Snape Proms from the closest view of the action!
