Vivaldi The Four Seasons 43’
Bach Harpsichord Concerto BWV 972 9’ and music by Vivaldi including Lute Concerto in D major RV 93 12′

Vivaldi’s quartet of violin concertos is a familiar landmark in musical history, by turns picturesque and thrilling in its depictions of the natural world from bone-chilling frost and ferocious storms to the trilling of birdsong. Following a hotly-anticipated new recording of this evergreen classic, Rachel Podger, ‘the queen of the baroque violin’ (Sunday Times) and her select band of brilliant string players embark on a special tour. But nowhere perhaps will one of classical music’s great ‘nature’ pieces seem more at home than amongst the natural beauty of this concert hall’s surroundings.
