Ruth Wharrier Exhibition - 'Surfacing'
A new collection of botanical and wildlife illustrations

Born in the North-East, Ruth spent her formative years in Northumberland and drew inspiration from the surrounding area. This led her into a life and career in illustration and conservation. She studied Botanical Illustration at the Chelsea Physic Garden in London and has developed her work as a botanical and wildlife illustrator since coming to live in Suffolk.
Ruth is a very experienced teacher and works within schools and higher education. She is a tutor for Suffolk Wildlife Trust.
Ruth uses a range of mediums. She works in handmade watercolour and gouache on various surfaces like paper, wood and vellum. She also creates drypoint and copperplate etchings. She has exhibited across the region and her work is collected internationally.
Ruth teaches adult botanical painting courses every month.
