The protest song is as old as the history of organised resistance itself, from the industrial revolution to universal suffrage and the slave trade, and in more recent times CND, Rock against Racism and the Miners’ strike. Some of this country’s most celebrated folk singer and songwriters come together to delve into the rich archive of protest songs and write and perform their own responses.
