Suffolk’s coast, farms, forests and rivers inspire artists Gill Bedson, Tricia Newell and John Garrett. All members of Sudbourne Printmakers, they use techniques including collagraph, drypoint, etching, lino and woodcuts to create original prints that express their inspiration.
Many of Gill’s prints are of the animals on the small farm that is her home. She knows each and every one of them and captures their characters in her art. Other subjects spring from the coast and the fishing along it.
Tricia has illustrated many books and other publications before returning to print making. She has an eye for accurate detail, whilst creating prints that are as pleasing as they are varied. She also enjoys pyrographing wooden items which have been turned by John.
John’s love of traditional sailing craft and river scenes with reeds and bulrushes is expressed in several media. Many of his prints are of subjects close to Snape.
