What’s in a name? Debussy’s Préludes are not exercises but pivotal piano works of the 20th century, launching brilliant new textures on the instrument while exploring new worlds of atmosphere and colour.

Its title may suggest a modest light entertainment, but Mozart’s spacious six-movement Divertimento for violin, viola and cello – rarely heard in concert today – is a work of breadth, invention and deep compositional craft.
