Making Art using Wet Felting Techniques
Sunday 29 April 10am–4pm
Part of Workshops at the Tack Room
Participants will be introduced to different techniques of wet felting using Merino wool to make a flat felt picture. During the workshop demonstrations Katie will include making felt balls and ropes as well as showing how the texture and the embellishment of felt work may be developed.
Katie Walker uses felt-making to form structural shapes and to create images of intense colour and texture. She prefers Merino Wool with its bright colour palette for her range of both 2D and 3D crafted objects and uses a wide variety of technical approaches. Katie has wide experience of leading Workshops for a variety of interest groups.
The Art of Making in Suffolk: Workshops for Spring 2018
In a new collaborative venture between Suffolk Craft Society and Snape Maltings, five selected Society Makers lead a series of one-day workshops. The hands-on sessions, which include lino printing, felt and textile development and paper and ceramic jewellery making, offer you an opportunity to learn and be inspired by professional craft makers whose work is centred in Suffolk.
