Making Art Jewellery in Porcelain Clay
Fri 20 & Fri 27 April, 10–12.30pm
Part of Workshops at the Tack Room
Over two mornings Sue will guide participants to create unique wearable porcelain brooches. Part 1 will be spent designing and creating the brooch. Part 2 will include painting, decorating and finishing the fired porcelain.
Sue Bruce uses slab techniques with porcelain to assemble her hand built pots. Textures are developed using lace, netting and found objects, achieving unexpected and beautiful effects. Her glazes are rich blues, lilacs and greens sometimes underpainted, with blue wash. Sue is the author of The Art of Hand Built Ceramics. She is a very experienced workshop leader.
The Art of Making in Suffolk: Workshops for Spring 2018
In a new collaborative venture between Suffolk Craft Society and Snape Maltings, five selected Society Makers lead a series of one-day workshops. The hands-on sessions, which include lino printing, felt and textile development and paper and ceramic jewellery making, offer you an opportunity to learn and be inspired by professional craft makers whose work is centred in Suffolk.
