Our new Listening Walks give you the chance to focus on listening to the remarkable natural environment of the Alde estuary.

Exploring Snape Maltings’ remarkable natural environment, our new series of Listening Walks, running each Saturday and Sunday from June to August, give you the chance to focus on your sense of listening.

Guided by sound artists and field recording professionals Mike Challis and Meg Amsden, the walks invite you to take part in an hour of intense listening as we walk along the bank of the River Alde, alternating between silent listening and discussions of what has been heard.

At the end of the walk, you will have the chance to hear recordings of bird calls to help you identify what you have heard and take new skills away with you.

Walks last approximately 1 hour and are approximately 1.5 miles long. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. We regret that dogs are not allowed.
