Late at Snape: A 1920s Dance Party
Saturday 12 August 9pm
Part of Snape Proms
The lights are dimmed and the floor is cleared as Alex Mendham and his Orchestra invite you to their after-show party. The 12-piece band plays uptempo numbers, a waltz medley or two and a few familiar songs sung by the close-harmony Dunlop sisters, and the floor is cleared for two hours of dancing. Whether you’re an expert dancer, or trying it out for the first time, this is an after-dark dance that revels in the sights and sounds of the Jazz Age – the era of The Great Gatsby, Noel Coward and the Bright Young Things.
The Concert Hall Café remains open until 9pm. Drinks and snacks available in the Britten Studio throughout the evening.
