Mozart’s clarinet quintet is one of the most sublime works in the chamber music repertoire, full of languid charm and with its famous, heavenly slow movement. Weber’s virtuosic showpiece is an ideal companion.

The inspirational and ever-versatile Julian Bliss has an instinctive natural rapport with his fellow performers, who open the programme with Beethoven’s energetic string quartet.

"The Mozart is utterly persuasive, with Bliss's pure tone and control of dynamics allowing him to dovetail beautifully with the string players"
