Lettering Arts Trust exhibition: In Concert
Friday 8 Sep 2017 - Thursday 21 Dec 2017
The Lettering Arts Trust opens its new exhibition in the Snape Maltings concert hall gallery, as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations for the world-famous concert hall. “In Concert” brings together a remarkable ensemble of all the disciplines associated with the art of lettering. The UK’s foremost lettering artists present a rich narrative exploring and celebrating the relationship between lettering, music and the inspiring location of Snape Maltings.
The collection of work includes calligraphy, typography, embroidery, glass, steel and stone letter carving. The gallery is filled with limited-edition prints, plaques and individual carvings. Amongst the artists taking part are calligrapher Rosella Garavaglia; master letter carvers John Neilson and Annet Stirling and graphic designer Charlie Behrens.
The exhibition can be viewed during normal Snape Maltings opening hours and when there is an evening performance in the Concert Hall.
