This is a long-standing and beautifully matched duo – ‘there is something to raise a smile in every single movement’ wrote The Guardian of a recent Mozart recording. In Mozart and Beethoven violin and keyboard are true equals; for the American adventurers Cage and Crumb equally so. Cage’s artless, weightless melodies conceal a sophisticated interdependence between performers, whilst Crumb weaves a delicate latticework of extraordinary new sounds in his shimmering night music.
