Friends Event: Annual Reception

Saturday 20 June, 5pm-6.30pm

Part of Friends Events

This year, we’re bringing the Friends’ Annual Reception back home to Snape Maltings. Join us in the gardens of Snape Bridge House to share a sumptuous afternoon tea.

Composer and broadcaster Michael Berkeley will be sharing some of his ‘private passions’ with us, including fond memories of his godfather, Benjamin Britten. David Edwards, author of The House That Britten Built, will reveal more about the intriguing history of the house and its occupants, including sisters Elizabeth Garrett Anderson, the first qualified female physician in Britain, and pioneer of women’s suffrage, Millicent Fawcett.

Snape Bridge House is on the Snape Maltings site, and less than 5 minutes’ walk from the Concert Hall.
