Festival Walk: Somerleyton Hall & Fritton Lake
Wednesday 24 June (depart Moot Hall, Aldeburgh from 9am, returning approx. 5pm)£28 including lunch and coach
Part of Aldeburgh Festival
The walk begins at St Edmund’s Church, Fritton, dating from the 12th-15th centuries. We then circumnavigate the lake, passing through formal gardens and along the woodland track, before lunching at the summer house with grand views across the water, where the brave can choose to swim from the jetty.
After lunch we head towards the hall, the seat of our hosts Lord and Lady Somerleyton, visiting the estate’s other two churches, Ashby and St Mary’s, along the way.
