Exhibition: Tessa Newcomb "Understanding Snape"
Saturday 8 Sep 2018 - Tuesday 2 Oct 2018
Gathering together a new collection based on her residency here earlier in the year, we are delighted to welcome a body or work, which – as the artist herself explains – captures the spirit of this special place:
“I was straight out onto the marshes at dawn and as darkness fell. Those dead trees look magnificent when it is clear and -4, no people and all the birds in them. At night the Maltings stand huge and solid at the end of that reach of wide water, sky and rushes…
... I saw Snape as I had not done before - I think I will be able to understand Britten's music now."
