Roy's inspirational paintings always evoke a powerful sensation of place and mysterious atmosphere.

Roy Rodgers’ deep rooted interest in the landscape of Suffolk and the surrounding countryside has grown over a period of 26 years. Wildlife reserves in East Anglia are a rich source of inspiration. He looks to the landscape not for what makes a good picture, but to evoke a sensation that in turn creates the power behind the picture. The spriritual aspect of the area and the history in which it is steeped are important to him.The paintings are based to a large extent on a combination of memory and on the spot drawings and watercolours.

Ken Howard R.A. O.B.E. said “To live with a painting by Roy Rodgers is a life enhancing experience, as he always shows us his way of seeing the world”.
