Exhibition: Nature's Footprint

Thu 15 - Wed 21 November 2018

Free Event

The Quay Gallery

Suffolk’s coast, farms, forests and rivers inspire the artists. The artists, Gill Bedson, Tricia Newell and John Garrett, use techniques including collagraph, drypoint, etching, lino and woodcuts to create original prints that express their inspiration.

Many of Gill‘s prints are of the animals on the small farm that is her home. She knows each and every one of them and captures their characters in her art. Other subjects spring from the coast and fishing. Gill has recently completed a one year certificate course at Curwen Print Study Centre in Cambridge.

Tricia has illustrated many books and other publications before returning to print making. She has an eye for accurate detail, whilst creating prints that are as pleasing as they are varied. Her range of techniques is unusually wide and she enjoys mixing them to good effect.

John‘s love of traditional sailing craft and river scenes with reeds and bulrushes is expressed in several media. Many of his prints are of subjects close to Snape.
