Exhibition: Nature's Footprint

Thu 14 - Wed 20 November

Suffolk’s coast, farms, forests and rivers inspire artists Gill Bedson, Tricia Newell and John Garrett. They use techniques including  collagraph, drypoint, etching, lino and woodcuts to create original prints that express their inspiration.

Gill is inspired by the living form and tries to keep her drawings fluid by attending life-drawing classes regularly. On her smallholding a variety of animals are a constant inspiration to her. She loves wildlife and down on the farm there is no shortage of this either! She catches the personality and movement of the animals in drawings and prints.

Tricia has illustrated many books and other publications before returning to print making. She has an eye for accurate detail, whilst creating prints that are as pleasing as they are varied. Her range of techniques is unusually wide and she enjoys mixing them to good effect.

John’s love of traditional sailing craft and river scenes with reeds and bulrushes is expressed in several media. Many of his prints are of subjects close to Snape.
