Exhibition: 'Mechanica' by Robert Erskine

Wed 2 - Thu 8 August

Humanity’s innate ability and desire to create practical objects, tools and machines is unique amongst life on Earth. However, these often overlooked industrial creations express an unconventional, functional beauty that echo the natural world through their simplicity — for example, there’s no such thing as an ugly bolt. “Mechanica” is a series of works exploring the seemingly disparate relationship between the natural and human-created.

Also, a selection of drawings, maquettes and photographs that show the development of ideas into landmark sculptures: “From Miniatures to Monuments.”
