Exhibition: Kate MccGwire
Friday 8 June – Wednesday 18 July, 10am (10.30am Sunday) - 5pm (or the start of the evening concert)
Part of Aldeburgh Festival
Kate MccGwire is an internationally renowned British sculptor whose practice probes the beauty inherent in duality, employing natural materials to explore the play of opposites at an aesthetic, intellectual and visceral level.
Growing up in East Anglia her connection with nature and fascination with birds was nurtured from an early age, with avian subjects and materials a recurring theme in her artwork. For this year’s festival, MccGwire has created a site-specific installation in the Dovecote, whilst another of her works is on display in the Concert Hall Foyer.
