Exhibition: John Keane - At the Front
Sun 16 Jun - Sun 23 JunFree Event
Peter Pears Gallery and Garage Gallery, Aldeburgh, 10am to 5pm daily
‘At the Front’ is a selection of Keane’s work exploring themes of military, social and political conflict around the world.
From his appointment by the Imperial War Museum as official artist for the Gulf war of 1990/91, Keane has continued to respond to unfolding events throughout the world. The works on view demonstrate Keane’s preoccupation with violence, terror and the consequences inflicted on individual lives. Also included are a number of ‘Selves’, Keane’s recent more introspective series of self portraits incorporating reactive metallic paint.
In collaboration with Flowers Gallery.
