Chris Soule has been potting for over 40 years in the European tradition. His experience from designing and making pots for companies like Harrods, Habitat and Debenhams taught him to think about a pot’s end use but also how it feels in the hand when you use it. His pots are earthenware using Reactive Glazes that he has developed over the years focusing very much on lively colour. For Chris, sitting at the potter’s wheel is one of the most fantastic things you can do with your day, second only to opening a glaze kiln, not knowing if you are about to uncover your perfect pot. Roy Rodgers’ deep-rooted interest in the landscape of Suffolk and the surrounding countryside has grown over period of 25 years. Wildlife reserves in East Anglia are a rich source of inspiration. He looks to the landscape not for what makes ‘good picture’ but to evoke a sensation that in turn creates the power behind the picture. The spiritual aspect of the area and the history in which it is steeped are important to him. His painting are based to a large extent on a combination of memory and on the spot drawings watercolours. Ken Howard O.B.E. said: to live with a painting by Roy Rodgers is a life enhancing experience, as he always shows us his way of seeing the world. Find out more www.royrodgers.co.uk
