Exhibition: Carol Saunderson - All Nature Has a Feeling
Monday 12 April - Wednesday 12 MayFree Event
The Maltings Gallery
Carol Saunderson grew up in East Anglia as a member of a farming family and has been working as a painter for 25 years. Her semi-abstract, richly coloured works are characterised by their lively brushwork and mark-making. Her inspiration is taken from her daily walks in the countryside around her Suffolk home, watching the light move across the landscape or through the trees, as it continually changes the colours and the atmosphere. The familiar fields, woods, paths, animals and birds find their way into the paintings.
Carol’s work has been exhibited at galleries around the UK, appeared in magazines and published as both greetings cards and prints.
This body of work showcased in The Maltings Gallery this Spring has been influenced by the poet John Clare.
All Nature Has A Feeling
All nature has a feeling: woods, fields, brooks
Are life eternal: and in silence they
Speak happiness beyond the reach of books;
There’s nothing mortal in them; their decay
Is the green life of change; to pass away
And come again in blooms revivified.
Its birth was heaven, eternal it its stay,
And with the sun and moon shall still abide
Beneath their day and night and heaven wide.
