The beauty of Christian Blackshaw’s Mozart is the result of his all-encompassing immersion into the music he plays, finding the perfect articulation for each note.

This evening Blackshaw invites us to join him in a recital of pieces he describes as being like ‘mini-operas’, Mozart’s sonatas ranging from serene aria-like melodies to passages of bursting with energy.

"Some pianists love to flaunt their inner world. Others barely offer you a glimpse. Christian Blackshaw fits neither category. He allows you timidly into a place so private you almost hesitate at the threshold. Once inside you’ll find no sense of ego, only sincere, deeply felt playing that conveys more in one phrase than others find in a whole piece."
