CANCELLED: AYM Taster Session

Sat 1 Feb • Sat 8 Feb • Sat 4 Apr • 10am – 4pm

Get first-hand experience of what it is like to be an Aldeburgh Young Musician in a free workshop at Snape Maltings.

Participants work with professional musicians and current AYMs to develop their own music, typical of an AYM course.

There is a chance to meet AYM staff, ask questions and find out more about the scheme. Workshops are the best way to find out what Aldeburgh Young Musicians is about, for prospective AYMs, parents and guardians.

AYM is a Centre for Advanced Training, based at Snape Maltings Concert Hall and part of the national network. Through intensive residential courses, professional advice, mentoring and performance opportunities, AYM nurtures the creative, innovative and distinctive musicians of tomorrow. We support passionate young musicians aged 8-18 who have the potential to be the best from any background and discipline.

Please note you only need to book a ticket for the young musician(s) who will take part. There will be a short presentation at the beginning that parents/guardians are welcome to attend, and the chance to ask any questions, however the rest of the day will be practical activity for the young musicians, led by our inspiring team of professionals. This will enable them to get a true idea of what AYM would be for them.
