Friday 29 May 2020 - 4.00pm

Palestinian oud player and composer Saied Silbak, flautist and singer Katie McDonald and guitarist and improviser Paul Griffiths come from diverse backgrounds but are united in their approach: to explore different cultural and sonic languages and find new avenues of expression through collaborative composition. With this team, the AYMs will explore the rhythmic, modal, melodic and microtonal aspects of Arabic music alongside gaining an understanding of its cultural context. A series
of new compositions, improvisations, poems and writings will be performed.
