The Art of Making with Textiles and Paint
Friday 13 April 10am–4pm
Part of Workshops at the Tack Room
Using a metre of material, fabric paints, pens and assorted household objects, participants will learn a variety of special techniques that can be easily recreated and used at home. The emphasis will be on exploring techniques for making unique fabric designs.
Jean Fryer uses paint as a medium but her love for painting was eventually superseded by her passion for fabrics. She now combines the methods and materials of these medium on fabrics to embellish her stitched textile panels.
The Art of Making in Suffolk: Workshops for Spring 2018
In a new collaborative venture between Suffolk Craft Society and Snape Maltings, five selected Society Makers lead a series of one-day workshops. The hands-on sessions, which include lino printing, felt and textile development and paper and ceramic jewellery making, offer you an opportunity to learn and be inspired by professional craft makers whose work is centred in Suffolk.
