The performers involved in the Britten Canticles project on the following evening take part in a celebration of English song and the marking of the centenary of horn player Dennis Brain.

Peter Maxwell Davies salute to Brain is followed by Poulenc’s Elegie written in his memory.  The programme also includes Britten, his teacher Frank Bridge, and a moving late work by Schubert for tenor, horn and piano which Peter Pears performed with Dennis Brain.
