In 2013 guitarist and composer Gary Ryan became only the fourth guitarist to be awarded a fellowship of the Royal College of Music, following in the footsteps of Andrés Segovia, Julian Bream and John Williams. Two of the world’s best classical players, Williams and Ryan now play together, forming a trio with brilliant jazz guitarist John Etheridge, whose long-term collaborators have ranged from Stephane Grappelli to Soft Machine.
In a programme of solos, duos and trios, they perform music ranging from effervescent Vivaldi to joyous West African harmonies and their own compositions, introducing the programme from the stage.
