This Easter we present contrasting masterpieces of sacred music from different eras that continue to hold a magnetic power over our imagination.
Bach offers a compelling, dramatic telling of Christ’s Passion, operatic in scope. Faure’s gentle Requiem mass uplifts as it consoles and is given an intriguing fresh context by one of this country’s most celebrated vocal ensembles, Tenebrae, who pair it with Bach’s choral music and works for solo violin. Profound and mysterious music by Beethoven and Adès completes the weekend.
Throughout the weekend, there will be a host of family-friendly activities, including and Easter Egg hunt and a special Easter Farmers’ Market.
Please note that House & Garden will be closed on Sunday 21 April, all of our other shops (including the Food Hall & Granary Building) and cafés will be open as usual.
