Through a series of artist-led residencies, the scheme offers the flexibility to explore and create new works, try out new collaborations and experiment with new ways of working, away from the pressures of everyday life as a professional musician. This unique opportunity allows participants to become part of the Snape Maltings family, to experience Snape’s creative campus on a regular basis and to make use of our expertise and vast array of contacts.
Each ensemble or individual is allocated a budget which can be used flexibly in discussion with the Producer, for example to cover accommodation and travel or hire of equipment, or for external consultants – however, this budget is not used to cover artist fees.

New groups for 2017:
“The support of Open Space / Snape Maltings will allow us to embark on our most unique and challenging project to date; the creation of an immersive live music experience that utilises spatial compositions and projection mapping. We are eager to see how this piece will develop, and grateful to be able to explore these new ideas at Snape Maltings.”
