Mark Padmore’s extraordinary diction and sensitivity to poetry and language make him ideally placed to bring his vast knowledge of English Song, and particularly that of Benjamin Britten to the next generation of artists. 12 singers and 6 pianists will be accepted onto this course to work in detail on Britten’s output for voice and piano. They are coached by accomplished chamber musician, soloist and collaborative pianist James Baillieu, and as in the Opera Arias course, Julia Faulkner will provide 1:1 singing lessons throughout the week.
