Scandinavian Song & French Mélodie

28 Sep – 4 Oct 2020

Anne Sofie von Otter mezzo soprano • Malcolm Martineau accompanist • Julia Faulkner voice teacher • Aurélia Jonvaux language coach

Grammy award-winning mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter is one of today’s most recorded artists with an unrivalled discography built across a career spanning more than three decades at the very top of her profession. Her own musicmaking is characterised by a forensic attention to detail and emotional directness – attributes she brings to her teaching.

For this course, she is joined by internationally revered accompanist Malcolm Martineau and together they will explore glorious sound worlds of voice and piano repertoire from Scandinavia and France. They are supported by voice teacher Julia Faulkner, whose list of students reads like the who’s who of today’s opera houses, and French language coach Aurélia Jonvaux. They will all work with the participants in 1:1 lessons and public masterclasses.

Final Concert: 4 October 2020

For this course, we accept applications from singers and pianists and existing duos. There are 12 spaces for singers and 6 for pianists.
