Britten–Pears Orchestra

29 July – 13 August 2018

The BPO meets once again under the baton of Marin Alsop to record and perform works by Prokofiev, Saint-Saëns, and Ravel, before tackling one of the best-loved ballets in the repertoire, Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet.

Following the success of the 2017 BPO, whose performances at Royal Festival Hall and Snape Maltings were praised for their ‘fine blend of technique, musicianship, & interaction’ (Classical Source) and embodying ‘vibrancy and hope’ (The Guardian), Marin Alsop returns to direct two programmes for the Snape Proms and a recording of Peter and the Wolf for Naxos.

With support from experienced orchestral tutors, this course is an invaluable opportunity to prepare core orchestral repertoire under an acclaimed conductor and challenge yourself in the company of emerging musicians from around the world.
