Data and Research Manager

Full time, 35 hours, permanent, salary range £30 – 40k

Snape Maltings is a place of energy and inspiration for people ranging from concert audiences to musicians developing skills on courses and residencies, and from local communities to researchers exploring music’s potential to improve lives. This is a step-change moment in our organisation’s history, with ambitions to embark on a large-scale capital campaign to develop the site significantly and support its activity as a national, and international, hub bringing together all those involved in music’s place in the world: musicians, researchers, clinicians.

Snape Maltings’ Development Team is responsible for raising over a third of the charity’s annual revenue, so is fundamental to the continuation – and growth – of the inspiring activity delivered across the organisation. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the right data and processes to build a sustainable future for revenue activity.

There are two key responsibilities for this role: to manage the fundraising use of our CRM system (Spektrix), ensuring that the right structure and processes are in place to support excellent donor stewardship, and producing analysis and reports which are underpinned by rigorous data management. The role will also be responsible for the team’s prospect research, driving pipeline development for all income streams. We are happy to consider applications from people who could fulfil this role as 0.8 FTE.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience of managing or working closely with a CRM system, ideally Spektrix
  • Excellent research skills – across a range of media
  • Experience of analysing, reporting and presenting data
  • Excellent written communication skills

We will appoint on merit and welcome applications from all sections of the community, in particular from BAME and disabled candidates who are currently under-represented at Snape Maltings. First interviews can take place via Skype for shortlisted candidates who are unable to travel to Suffolk.
